About Us

About City Center Chapter

City Center Chapter was chartered in June of 1982 in Tampa, Florida and currently has 38 members.

Our membership is diversified and we feature speakers on a wide array of topics that keep us up-to-date on the latest office technology and office ethics.  Networking affords us the opportunity to exchange ideas with other professionals.

The chapter has continuously maintained a presence in the downtown Tampa area and is one of the many chapters in the Florida Division of IAAP.  With emphasis on educational programs, chapter growth, and community services, City Center Chapter strives to offer the many benefits of IAAP membership.

As a professional group, our goal is to share our knowledge and ideas in order to strengthen our abilities as administrative professionals, to project an image that is knowledgeable, professional, and respected in the business community, and to encourage membership growth within our organization.

Members of City Center Chapter, have the opportunity to:

  • Network
  • Build and nurture friendships
  • Certify professionalism through the Certified Professional Secretary® (CPS) and Certified Administrative Professional® (CAP) program
  • Increase your professional and personal knowledge level through informative speakers at chapter meetings, IAAP seminars, and workshops
  • Learn communication and leadership skills and increase professionalism
  • Take pride in affiliating with a professional group

City Center Chapter provides an opportunity for networking, continuing education, and the opportunity to continue to develop leadership and interpersonal skills.  We also have a study/support group for those wishing to take the CPS and/or CAP exams.  The chapter is active in the community and volunteers at many charitable events throughout the year in addition to sponsoring an annual $1,000 scholarship to a student pursuing a career in the administrative field.

Our Executive Advisory Board consists of past Executives of the Year whose integrity, business experience and leadership ensure that City Center Chapter is continuously recognized as a leader in providing education and training for members and continues to uphold the standards of excellence recognized by the business community.
