There are three types of membership in IAAP:

Professional:  A currently employed (or within the last two years) administrative professional, a holder of the CPS and/or CAP rating, or an employed teacher of business education.  This membership is non-transferrable and remains with the individual even if he or she changes employment.  The annual IAAP dues for a Professional Member is $83.

Student:  A student in business education.  Individuals can be student members for a maximum of four years.  After that time the membership is automatically transferred to a professional member status.  This type of membership is non-transferrable. It remains with the individual.  The annual IAAP dues for a Student member is $50.

Associate:  An individual, firm, or educational institution that sustains the objectives of IAAP.  A contact person is named by the business or institution to receive the benefits of membership.  This type of membership is transferrable and a new contact person can be named.   The annual IAAP dues for an Associate Member is $180.

New IAAP members also pay a one-time processing fee of $15.

New IAAP members may also choose their level of involvement with IAAP and additional dues vary by Divisions and Chapters.  There are 3 levels of IAAP membership, which are described below.

Chapter Member:  A Chapter Member is a member that is affiliated with a specific IAAP chapter.  Chapter membership is highly recommended for local networking and programs.  Being actively involved in a chapter helps you gain leadership experience and builds management-level skills that you might not learn on the job or through training provided by employers.  By attending local chapter meetings and events, you will have many opportunities to network with fellow administrative professionals and participate in local educational programs.  City Center Chapter dues are $20 per year.  You are welcome to attend a City Center Chapter meeting first as a guest to see if the chapter fits your needs.

Division Member-at-Large (DMAL):  Division Member-at-Large is a member that is not affiliated with a specific chapter, but is a member of a specific division.  Florida Division dues are $8 per year.

Member-at-Large (MAL):  A Member-at-Large is a member that is not affiliated with a specific chapter or division.  If there is no chapter in your area or if a chapter membership does not fit your needs, you may join as a Member-at-Large (pay only International-level annual dues) or Division Member-at-Large (pay International and Division annual dues).  You can always transfer to a local chapter later.
